Making History with Writing: a 3-part Series

Do you want to write a memoir, biography, genealogy history, family history, or even historical fiction, and you don’t know where to start?

ree

Join RHS for one or all of our three-part series, where our office manager, Jennifer Douwes, will guide you through your first steps. Each segment will cover a different aspect.

We'll talk about research in our January class. February will follow with outlining, and in March, we will cover writing your story.

Each class will touch on a different topic, but Jennifer is a big believer in research, so we will show you how--and when--to fall down the rabbit hole to help you use your time wisely.

These one-hour segments will include quick exercises to help you meet your goals…and set new ones! A 30-minute question-and-answer session will follow each class.

Keep an eye out for events with detailed descriptions. Please sign up, as space is limited.

Have an idea for more classes? Want to teach a class for RHS? Reach out! We’d love to hear your ideas!

Jennifer Douwes has been writing for much of her life. She began publishing at the ripe age of 7: a story about a swordfish having an existential crisis. She got her first taste of writing articles in high school when she wrote for her high school yearbook. Years later, she wrote for a magazine for a while and has also published a handful of novellas, short stories, and drabbles. She's an adviser and volunteer for the Pacific Northwest Writers Association.
