The Renton History Museum’s mission is to preserve, document, interpret, and educate about the history of greater Renton in ways that engage diverse people of all ages. We offer exhibits that explore Renton’s industrial, civic, and cultural past while showcasing our extensive collection of objects and photographs. The Renton History Museum also hosts spring and fall series of educational programs for families and adults. Museum memberships are available for anyone interested in the history of the area. The museum also operates a small research library open to researchers by appointment.

The Museum is a joint project of the Renton Historical Society and the City of Renton. The Renton Historical Society actively recruits trustees to oversee museum operations and volunteers to assist with projects under the direction of staff. Recent projects have included the refurbishment of the historic neon sign from Fey's Roxy Theatre and the historic reconstruction of an early twentieth-century coal mine car. The Museum is also currently working on a Museum Master Plan to plan for the next 15 years of sustainable museum operations.

Museum hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Renton Historical Society's Board of Trustees meets once a month at the Museum. Meetings are open to the public and visitors are welcome. Please call 425.255.2330 in advance to verify date, time, and location..
