| Executive- The Executive Committee consists of the Board officers: President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary (Museum Director). The Executive Committee develops the agenda for the meetings of the Board and conducts Executive Sessions as required. The Executive Committee’s powers and responsibilities are set forth in the Bylaws, and it meets as needed. Budget- The Budget Committee develops the annual budget for the Society and the Museum, and presents it to the Board. This Committee’s work is concentrated in the late summer and much of the fall, when it meets several times a month. Endowment- The Endowment Committee is responsible for soliciting donations to add to the current endowment. It oversees the professional investments of the endowment funds. This Committee holds quarterly meetings and others as needed. Internal Audit- The Internal Audit Committee is responsible for the annual review of the Society’s books and for the annual review of the Museum financial operations. This committee holds annual meetings and others as needed to complete its audit. Membership- The Membership Committee is responsible for increasing the Historical Society’s membership by leading the annual membership drive and raising community awareness about the Museum. This Committee holds quarterly meetings and others as needed. Nominations- The Nominations Committee meets on an as-needed basis to fill vacant Board positions and to nominate members to fill vacancies on the Executive Committee. This Committee also holds orientation for new trustees. Museum Oversight- The Museum Oversight Committee is the most actively involved with overseeing the operations of the museum and maintaining the collection. The Museum Committee meets monthly. Fundraising- The Fundraising Committee is responsible for raising funds for operating expenses and general fundraising for events and projects of the Society, through corporate and individual donations as well as grant funding. Events- The Events Committee is responsible for organizing the Annual Meeting and other events. The committee coordinates events with the goals of the Fundraising and Endowment Committees when appropriate. The Events Committee meets on an as-needed basis. The Renton Historical Society’s Board of Trustees meets throughout the year at the museum. Meetings are open to the public and visitors are welcome.
